Install Sony BRAVIA 2 Graphics on your Android phone!!!

Hello Pakistan!

Keeping up with the tradition of bringing you exciting stuff, today i bring you the Sony BRAVIA 2 mobile graphics engine which you can install on your rooted android phones (yes root is required!). What it will do is install the BRAVIA 2 graphics engine with your GPU hardware. Keep in mind that this is only to enhance your the graphic performance of lower to mid range phones and will NOT turn your phone into a SONY mobile (they already have it installed). So...lets get to work...
Ye Olde Friendly Warning: Blah le Blah le Blah...Blah Blah Blah...and I will not be responsible if your phone turns into our not so popular president of Pakistan. So you are doing it at your own risk.

>>>>DO MAKE A BACK UP OF YOUR PHONE BEFORE TRYING IT <<<<

Stuff you'll need

  1. A rooted Android Phone with ClockWorkMod Recovery.
  2. Sony BRAVIA 2 Engine (Download) DO NOT EXTRACT IT.
  3. 3 black chickens and a black goat to sacrifice (optional step)
Procedure:
  1. Download the Sony BRAVIA 2 Engine package from above and place it on the root directory (main area) of your SD Card.
  2. Reboot into ClockWorkMod Recovery.
  3. Select "Install Zip from SD Card" >>> "Choose Zip from SD Card" and then select the "Bravia2.zip" file.
  4. After a successful flashing of the Zip file, reboot your phone and thats it, you will notice a clear improvement in games graphics and a much smoother interface graphics.
  5. Sacrifice the 3 black chickens and the black goat and make a stew and eat it. Praise Allah after you eat it. (Again this step is optional but you want to do it...dont you? )

    1. Sir at present I have not managed to test it on any device running gingerbread, only Ice Cream Sandwich devices but you are welcomed to try it a2.

Before you try it i strongly urge that you make a backup in your recovery before following the procedure, that way should anything go wrong you will be able to return to where you were before trying it.

      Regards,

      Hasan

    1. congratulations...when you install a graphic engine...you do not get an ON/OFF option. You will feel it in the graphics when you are playing a game or using a graphic based application. Just like when you install Beats Audio software...you will not get a software but only enhancement of the beats audio when you are playing music with headphones plugged in. Speaking of which you just gave me an idea...a post about installing beats audio software is coming up :)

    5. no issues...as for the boot logo...its a disaster for qmobile...they use 2 boot logos and i have managed to change only one of them...that dreaded qmobile logo still appears...but you can change the boot animation with app called "Boot Animations" <<< its good and has a lot of cool animations

  8. ah shit.. i posted a comment using someone else's account..lol..
plz do tel me more mods to make it lag free.. also is there a way to increase the apps memory.. ? coz i have already filled up the 2gb space.. and for some reason i cant seem to install apps in my sd card..

    1. Install apps like "link2sd" to move system apps to your sd card or uninstall system apps altogether which you don't need (make a backup before doing this)...this will create more space, also you can move your already installed apps to your sd card. Also install "Root Explorer" and i will tell you how to make it faster :)

    2. already have both of them installed on my mobile. had to use a script to enable the use of card storage for apps and games. Without the script you can only install/move apps and games to the phone storage which is limited to 2gb :)

PS. A6 has 3 different storage units.. the internal memory (which is about 500mb) the phone storage (2gb storage for apps and games) and the sd card (which is data only storage, unless you use a script and change it into the phone storage memory, that allows it to be used for apps and games)

    3. yes i am well aware of that...open the build.prop in root explorer with R/W rights...and look for "heapgrowthlimit=48MB" <<< change the 48 to 64 and it will move a lot smoother...this trick worked for me a great deal. The thing which seems strange to me is that you required a script to move apps between storages but anyhow what works is good :)

  9. nice... THANK YOU ... mobile does feel a wee bit faster..
about the script.. all it did was interchange Sd memory with Phone memory.. i have seen lots of ppl with this prob.. about not being able to move apps/games to sd memory.. the main reason is .. if you look at the folders.. the default name of SD folder is SDcard2 and the phone memory (2gb) is named SDcard... the script fixes the names of the folders.. and lets you use your SD card the way it should be..

any other useful tricks or mods for A6 ? .. .also .. any idea what's the heap limit of A6 ? (Heap is more or less same as ram)

again .. THANK you for the info :)

    ReplyDelete
  10. you can install an app called "Pimp My ROM"...its still in alpha stage but it offers some neat customizations. The max heap size i managed to work was 72 at which the phone began to heat up a lot for some reason.

    1. tried to install it .. but it kept givin error.. any idea how i get the Default messenger on Xperia mod ? i tired moving the MMS.apk file to system/apps and changed the permission aswell.. but still i keep getin the Xperia messenger ..

      Delete
    2. you will have to get rid of the old MMS.apk and replace it with the new one. I suggest making a backup before you try this as this can screw up the messaging if the phone doesnt pick up the new apk

      Delete
    3. do i need to deleted both MMS.apk and the com.android.mms.apk ?
coz even though i deleted the old MMS.apk and added the old A6 one.. still i got the xperia mms.apk :S

      Delete
    4. you are renaming it are you not ? another method is to rename the old mms.apk to mms.apk.bak and then replacing it with the new mms.apk ... if the problem still persist then it means that the xperia mms.apk is now your primary mms.apk and it will be a pain in the butt

    1. well theory suggests that it should read your internal memory as your sd card in the CWM recovery. However it is always wise to make a backup and try it so if things should go wrong....you have a failsafe to use. Make sure your phone is rooted with CWM/TWRP recovery and runs android 4.x
