How to root Qmobile Noir A9 and Install CWM recovery

Hello Pakistan,

Keeping up with the tradition of providing you guys with the latest tips and tricks related to Android, I bring you the method to root the Qmobile Noir A9 phone courtesy of the genius folks at www.inkpak.com. So grab your A9 and let the adventure begin...procedure below.
Stuff you will need:
  • Noir A9 Root Kit (Download)
  • MobileUncleTools (Download Link)
  • A Qmobile Noir A9 (yes...you will need it :-P )
  • A video of Shahid Afridi's 100 from 37 (this is optional in case you get bored)
Time for a friendly warning...

Although the method is tested and proved, I will not be responsible if you damage your phone in the process...HAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHA >:)

Procedure:
  • Turn on "USB Debugging" on your phone by going to Settings > Developer Options > Check mark “USB Debugging” and then tap OK button. See screenshot below.

  • Connect your A9 to the PC with the USB Cable and install the drivers manually by browsing to the Noir A9 ADB drivers in the rootkit folder.
  • After installation of ADB drivers, turn your phone off andwhen it is turned off, reconnect the USB cable. You will notice that windows will try to install some more drivers. Navigate to the Noir A9 RootKit folder and install the "Noir A9 Preloader VCOM drivers" present in the respected folder.
  • Turn your phone ON and make sure again that USB Debugging is "ON" in the settings.
  • Now in the rootkit folder open "Restore with Restore By Binary" and open the "Runme.bat" file. It will open a black and green command prompt. Something like in the screenshot below.

  • When you see that screen type "1" in the prompt and press Enter
  • You will see some processing being done and then it will ask you to hit restore on your phone, click Restore My Data on the phone and it will reboot your phone. It should look something like this in the screenshots below.

  • After the restart open your phone menu and you should see a Super User app (SuperSU). If you find it, your phone is rooted. Congrats!!!.

Installing ClockWorkMod Recovery on your A9

  1. Install MobileUncleTools on your phone, grant it root access
  2. Copy the CWM "recovery.img" From the Noir A9 Rootkit and copy it in the main of the internal memory via USB cable, remember the internal memory and not the sd card.
  3. Open MobileUncleTools and touch the option of Recovery Update and it will look for the "recovery.img" which you have placed in your internal memory.
  4. It will ask you for confirmation, press ok and after a successful installation, reboot into recovery from the MobileUncleTools option at the end.

To boot into recovery directly. Turn off your phone and then press Volume Up + Power button at the same time and it will boot into recovery.

    1. MobileUncle tools is actually a dedicated software app for Phones based on MediaTek chipsets. As qmobile noir series (all of them) uses MTK or MediaTek chipsets ... mobile uncle tools provides the best support when changing something in them.

As for recovery, CWM or ClockWorkMod recovery is the best recovery available for any device. And offers more options than the stock recovery. When you flash ROMs or MODs ZIPs...normal/stock recovery doesnt pick it up and fails whereas CWM picks 99% of the Zips without problem

    1. This root method is for A9 not A7 and I am surprised you still have a working set because applying wrong root method can damage your phone. I am on vacation at the moment and i will post the method to root A7 soon. Never try root methods for other phones...it can severely damage your phone.

    1. First of all..you asked me which set should you buy and i said a9 ...never once did i FORCE YOU to buy it. Secondly the information and services i provide are free of cost and i provide it when i get free. At the moment i am on vacation. And lastly root your phone, install Link2SD from you playstore and then you will be able to move apps to sdcard. Make a backup in recovery first before moving apps

    1. rooting means when you remove certain security binaries from your phone...which gives you total control over your phone...however after rooting since your phone is limitless its also at a high risk of getting damaged if not taken care of properly...normally people think that after rooting miracle will happen and their phone will turn into a superphone...that is not the case...after rooting you have to modify it a lot yourself and know its limit till where to modify it...i have seen people frying their processors trying to overclock it...or brick it when they try to install wrong ROMs on it. So if you don't know about how to modify your set, rooting is a big NO NO for you. However, after rooting you can read forums like xda-developers for mods and hacks...but apply the mods after making a backup because after rooting should things go bad...a backup is the only thing which will save you

    1. You can't instally MU tools without CWM present in your phone in advance. Secondly does the third screen appears on your phone where it says "Reboot into recovery"...

Also try downloading the recovery again...sometimes it doesnt download wholly and cause issues.
